The Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Edward Yau, will depart for London, the United Kingdom, next Monday (September 18) to learn more about the latest developments of the creative industries there. He will also join visit programmes of the Chief Executive, Mrs Carrie Lam, in London later on.
On September 18 and 19, Mr Yau will visit renowned design and arts institutes in London including the Royal College of Art and the British Film Institute as well as the Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design and the London College of Fashion at the University of the Arts London. He will meet with local members and academics of the creative industries to exchange views on how to drive the development and collaboration of the industries.
Starting on September 20, Mr Yau will join Mrs Lam’s visit programmes in London.
Mr Yau will return to Hong Kong on September 23. The Under Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Dr Bernard Chan, will be the Acting Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development during Mr Yau's absence.
