The Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Gregory So, will depart for Seoul, Korea, in the small hours tomorrow (March 23) to witness the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for Exchanges by PMQ Management Company Limited of Hong Kong, the Korea Tourism Organization, the Korea Creative Content Agency and the Korea Craft and Design Foundation.
An MOU on Co-operation in the Creative Industries signed by Mr So with the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Korea, Mr Kim Jong-deok, in 2014 paved the way for the collaboration.
While in Seoul, Mr So will meet with Mr Kim, who will co-officiate at the MOU signing ceremony, to exchange views on issues of mutual concern.
He will also take the opportunity to visit CEL Venture Complex, one of the latest projects for creative industries in Seoul, and Dongdaemun Design Plaza, the newest and most iconic landmark of the Korean design industry.
He will also visit a K-pop dance school and a private academy for young people aspiring to be K-pop artistes.
The Under Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Godfrey Leung, will be the Acting Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development during Mr So's absence.
Mr So will return to Hong Kong in the evening on March 23.
