The Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Gregory So, will depart for a three-day visit to Seoul, Korea, tomorrow morning (February 19) to learn about the city's experience and initiatives in promoting creative and hi-tech industries.
While in Seoul, Mr So will meet with government officials responsible for business, trade and creative industries matters, academics and businessmen to exchange views with them on issues of mutual interest.
He will also visit companies and a private academy for performing arts talents, in addition to conducting a tour of Pangyo Techno Valley and calling on a government think tank which contributes to Korea's growth into an information and communications technology powerhouse.
The Permanent Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development (Communications and Technology), Miss Susie Ho, will accompany Mr So for this visit.
The Under Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Godfrey Leung, will be the Acting Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development during Mr So's absence.
Mr So will return to Hong Kong on February 21.
