Create Hong Kong (CreateHK) is launching a summer spectacular of animation and comics-related events for the public to experience the magical world of anime and showcase the endless creativity of local talents.
Speaking at a press conference today (June 19), the Head of CCIDAHK, Mr Jerry Liu, said, "CreateHK is committed to promoting Hong Kong's comics and animation industry and fostering a creative atmosphere within the community.
"With the opening of the first arts and culture centre dedicated to comics and animation - Comix Home Base - next month, CreateHK will join with the industry in presenting Hong Kong Ani-Com Summer 2013. The two-month festival includes eight core programmes and six fringe programmes for fans, enthusiasts and the public to immerse in the comics and animation culture," he said.
The core programmes of Hong Kong Ani-Com Summer 2013 include:
* Comics and Animation Summer Carnival at Victoria Park;
* The Greatest Animated Commercials from Hong Kong
* Opening Events of Comix Home Base;
* International Animation Festival 2013;
* Comics x Figures - Hong Kong Ani-Com Figure Show;
* Comix Home Base: "Tribute to Masters" Series (i) - "The Birth of a Hero - Exhibition of Ma Wing-Shing's Comics Works" and Master Class;
* Mascot Design Competition; and
* Closing Ceremony of Hong Kong Ani-Com Summer 2013.
The six fringe programmes, including a six-day comic camp as well as a concert and exhibition, are scheduled from late May to August.

Hong Kong Ani-Com Summer 2013 is presented by CCIDAHK, with Comix Home Base as Creative Partner and Hong Kong Animation Filmmaker Society, Hong Kong Arts Centre, Hong Kong Comics and Animation Federation and Hong Kong Digital Entertainment Association as co-organisers.
Hong Kong Ani-Com Summer 2013 is one of the signature events under the theme "Hip Hong Kong" of the "Hong Kong: Our Home" Campaign.
