To promote the Hong Kong film industry in the international market, Create Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Film Development Council, in collaboration with the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, will set up the largest ever Hong Kong Pavilion at the Marché du Film. The Marché du Film is the world's largest film market and part of the 65th Festival de Cannes (Cannes Film Festival) to be held in France from May 16 to 25.
The Hong Kong Pavilion, located at the trade event's Riviera section, will showcase the latest film production exhibits from 11 Hong Kong companies, including film synopses, flyers, stills, posters and trailers. Participating companies are All Rights Entertainment Ltd, Edko Films Ltd, Film Asia Entertainment Group Co Ltd, Gold Harbour International Films Ltd, Fortune Star Entertainment (HK) Ltd, Golden Scene Co Ltd, Mega-Vision Pictures Ltd, Star Alliance Movies (HK) Co Ltd, T-Films Ltd, Universe Films Distribution Co Ltd and Why Entertainment Co Ltd.
Eleven other Hong Kong companies will also set up separate booths at the event to showcase their latest film production exhibits. The companies are Asia Geographic Entertainment, Distribution Workshop, Emperor Motion Pictures, Easternlight Films, Fortissimo Films, Golden Network Asia Ltd, Media Asia Group, Mei Ah Entertainment Group Ltd, Pad International (Producers Alliance for Distribution), Pegasus Motion Pictures Distribution Ltd and We Distribution.
A Hong Kong business centre will be set up at the International Village, offering registered participants from Hong Kong free business facilities and a venue for media interviews and business meetings with industry personnel from all over the world.
Another highlight of Hong Kong's participation at the film festival is the screening section for several Hong Kong films, including the international award-winning "A Simple Life" and other films like "Flying Swords of Dragon Gate 3D", "Motorway", "Naked Soldier", "Nightfall", "The Great Magician", "The Viral Factor" and the animated feature "Yugo & Lala".
