A delegation from the creative sector led by the Government started a two-day visit to Beijing today (June 9) to promote co-operation between Hong Kong and the Mainland on the creative industries front.
The delegation will meet officials of the Ministry of Culture; the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television; and the General Administration of Press and Publication. They will explore ways to meet the needs of the Mainland creative industries market with Hong Kong's competitive edge in light of the National 12th Five-Year Plan, with a view to achieving a win-win situation and furthering the development of Hong Kong creative industries.
The delegation will be led by the Head of Create Hong Kong, Mr Jerry Liu, and will comprise representatives from the local digital entertainment, television, music and publication sectors, as well as the Hong Kong Trade Development Council. The Commissioner for Television and Entertainment Licensing, Mr Vincent Liu, and officials from relevant departments will also join the discussion sessions.
The delegation will return to Hong Kong tomorrow evening.
