Twenty-three acclaimed films by Hong Kong new generation directors to be screened uncut and in their original language are set to impress the Mainland audience during Hong Kong Films Retrospective 2010 held by the Hong Kong Film Development Council (FDC) in Shanghai from October 18 to 22.
The films to be shown at the theatres of Shanghai United Circuit Co Ltd are The Love Eterne, A Better Tomorrow, A Chinese Ghost Story, Aces Go Places, All About Ah-Long, All the Wrong Clues, An Autumn's Tale, City on Fire, Days of Being Wild, Eye in the Sky, Full Moon in New York, Heart to Hearts, I have a Date with Spring, Magic Boy, Mr Vampire, Mud Child, Pom Pom, Prison on Fire, Tangshan Tangshan, The 36th Chamber Of Shaolin, The Private Eyes, The Prodigal Son and Yes, Madam! .
The retrospective is co-organised by the Shanghai Film Group, Shanghai United Circuit Co Ltd and the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Shanghai with Create Hong Kong of the Commerce and Economic Development Bureau as the co-ordinator. The films are provided by film companies including Celestial Pictures Limited, Ignite Productions Ltd, Fortune Star Entertainment (HK) Ltd, Golden Scene Company Ltd, Media Asia Distribution Ltd, Sil-Metropole Organisation Ltd, Spring-Time Film Productions Ltd and Sundream Motion Pictures Ltd. The Hong Kong Film Directors' Guild, Hong Kong Screen Writers' Guild, Hong Kong Performing Artistes Guild, MPIA, and the film magazine "Hong Kong Films" also fully support the event.
Alongside the five-day film show, the FDC will hold a business matching event, Hong Kong and Mainland Film Cooperation Business Matching, from October 19 to 21 to provide a platform for Hong Kong new generation directors to promote film projects to investors from the Mainland.
