In response to the Bauhinia Foundation Resource Centre's report on promoting Hong Kong towards a creative metropolis released today (October 3), a spokesman for the Commerce and Economic Development Bureau gave the following reply:
"We note the efforts of the Bauhinia Foundation Resource Centre in considering how to promote Hong Kong towards a creative metropolis. We will carefully consider the proposals contained in the report."
The Chief Executive has, in his election manifesto, emphasised the importance of creative industries and tasked the Commerce and Economic Development Bureau to consider and co-ordinate relevant policy initiatives to promote the development of creative industries.
