DIGITAL ENTERTAINMENT

Benefited from the ever-evolving digital technologies, the local digital entertainment industry comprising comics, animation and game sectors soared to become Hong Kong’s largest creative sector (in terms of value-added) in 15 years. With the maturing of licensing business, the development of 5G networks and the rise of metaverse, Hong Kong’s digital entertainment industry sees more opportunities ahead.

CCIDA funds the industry to launch “Animation Support Programme”, “Hong Kong Game Enhancement and Promotion Scheme”, “Hong Kong Comics Support Programme”, “Hong Kong Digital Entertainment Industry Fresh Graduate Support Scheme” and other projects to nurture talent and facilitate the development of start-ups. The “Hong Kong Avenue of Comic Stars” funded by CCIDA is not only the world’s first avenue of stars dedicating to comics, but also a monumental landmark of the city.
